As a Child Advocate at The Button Law Firm, my role is to ensure that a child’s voice, and their family’s, is never lost in the legal process. I help build the damages portion of each case, working closely with our attorneys to ensure that the long-term impact of an incident is properly documented, supported, and, most importantly, heard. I also guide parents through what signs to look for in the aftermath, especially the initial emotional and behavioral changes that may not be visible.
With my background in social work, I’ve always been on the other side of these cases—advocating for clients and watching, far too often, as children’s needs were minimized. I earned my master’s in social work with a focus on mental health, which taught me to see beyond surface-level injuries and understand the deeper effects trauma can have.
When I first stumbled upon The Button Law Firm, every core value they stood for aligned with my own. After years of advocating for clients in the social work field, I saw an opportunity to expand that work by joining a team that supports families and fights for the justice they deserve. BLF gave me a new way to continue doing what I love—standing up for children and helping families rebuild with the right tools and support.
What I love most about being part of this team is how tight-knit and collaborative we are. Everyone here truly treats each other like family. We lean on each other, share knowledge, and work together on every case like a united front. You’re never on your own here, and that makes all the difference.
Outside of work, I’m usually glued to my husband and outside in the fresh air. I love hiking and fishing with him, and while I’ve attempted swimming, let’s just say it’s not my strongest skill. I thrive when I’m outdoors, surrounded by nature or chasing after one of our pets.
We have a full house: four dogs and four reptiles. Two of our dogs are English bulldogs who snore like actual humans (seriously), and the other two—our Belgian Malinois and German Shepherd—are high-energy protectors who keep us on our toes. On the reptile side, there’s Dexter the bearded dragon, Kevin the box turtle, and two African sulcata tortoises named Diesel and Tortilla. Life’s always a little chaotic, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Compassion is at the core of everything I do. Without it, I wouldn’t be the advocate—or person—I am today. I care deeply about every client and every child we serve, and I show up each day determined to help them move forward with dignity, strength, and support.
