CoffeeNot everyone is a morning person—and that’s totally okay. Whether you wake up ready to take on the world or need a few snoozes (and a serious cup of coffee) to get going, we all have our own unique ways of starting the day. And here at The Button Law Firm, we embrace those differences.

What truly matters is that each of us finds a rhythm that helps us feel grounded, focused, and ready to serve the families who rely on us. We work on heavy, emotionally charged cases. The stories we hear and the experiences our clients go through are heartbreaking. That’s why how we start each day—individually and as a team—makes all the difference in how we show up for them.

More Than Just “Good Morning”

A simple “good morning” might seem small, but at BLF, it’s a powerful act. It’s a reminder that none of us are alone. It sets a tone of connection and care—because even before the emails, court filings, and meetings start flowing, we check in on each other.

Those quick greetings in the morning are one way we live out our core values of Family and Team. We recognize that no one can pour from an empty cup. Being present, kind, and in tune with our teammate's, first thing in the morning sets a positive tone that carries into everything we do.

Everyone Has Their Own Flow

Some of us (hi, Rena Piper 👋) need coffee before we can even think about tackling the day. Others might jump into the morning with a quick workout, journaling, reading, or setting intentions. Personally, I like to knock out the biggest task on my to-do list right away—it gives me a sense of accomplishment and sets the pace for a productive day. After that, I check in with the team and make sure everyone feels supported.

Whether it’s a solo moment of calm or an energizing chat with a teammate, everyone has their own process. There’s no one right way to start the day—just the way that works for you.

Weekly Huddles Keep Us Connected

Beyond individual routines, we also take intentional time each week to reconnect as departments. Once a week, every team within the firm—whether it’s legal, marketing, intake, or operations—has a quick sync-up meeting. We talk through updates on cases, marketing plans, and goals for the week ahead.

More importantly, these moments give us a chance to celebrate wins. Whether it’s progress on a tough case, a thank-you from a client, or someone going above and beyond—we recognize and uplift each other. These meetings aren’t just logistical. They’re a key part of staying aligned, positive, and focused on our mission.

Showing Up With Purpose

Mornings aren’t just about routines—they’re about mindset. At BLF, we use our mornings to shift from just waking up to truly showing up. That mindset carries us through the rest of the day. It reminds us why we do what we do: to help families navigate some of the most difficult moments in their lives and to hold negligent parties accountable for the harm they’ve caused.

When we center ourselves on that purpose—whether through reflection, connection, or intention—we can bring more energy, compassion, and clarity to our work. Even on the toughest days, that shared mission makes the load feel lighter.

What’s Your Morning Magic?

Now we want to hear from you! What’s one thing you do in the morning that helps you start the day strongly? Is it a cup of coffee, a walk with your dog, a blast of your favorite playlist, or five minutes of quiet time?

Share your morning must-haves with us on social media or shoot us a message. We’re always curious how others kick off their day with purpose—and who knows, you might inspire someone on our team to try something new.
