Today, we’re talking about Tip #2: Daycare Security.

Security at daycare is crucial for keeping children safe. It prevents unauthorized individuals from entering the daycare and ensures that children are not left unattended.

When choosing a daycare for your child, there are some important questions you should ask about their security:

  1. Ask About the Daycare's Security Procedures: Do they have a written protocol for drop-off, pick-up, and verification of authorized individuals?

  2. Check for a Secured Access System: Ask if the daycare has a secured access system, such as a buzzer, to regulate access to areas where children are.

  3. Ensure All Entry Points Are Secure: It's essential to ensure that all doors, windows, and fences are closed, secure, and locked. Curious kids may wander, so it's crucial to prevent any opportunities for them to leave the facility unattended.

  4. Inquire About Caregiver Training and Supervision: Lastly, ask the daycare director if caregivers are properly trained and supervised to ensure security procedures are followed.

Remember, observing the daycare during your initial visit and throughout your child's enrollment can provide insight into whether policies and procedures are being followed.

Your child's safety is our priority. If you have any concerns about daycare security or if your child has been harmed due to inadequate security measures, don't hesitate to reach out.
